Wave Connections Cic Summer Camp August 2025

6 families 12 children, 10 parents, 6 team members a total of 28 individuals attended Summer 2025 Camp. The children participated in the Mindful Yoga for Young People's Mental Health Program, Forest School, expert team members utilised their skills in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Theraplay activities were achieved. Surrounding the fire, making pizza's and community shared eating bought the community together. Children who typically may struggle with such social interactions and participate in social activities, were seen to participate. gain confidence throughout the weekend and gravitate towards peers, gain joy and belonging. Having expert therapists on sight enables healing amongst the community. Parents were provided with respite and share connections and similar stories. Amongst some of the testimonies from parents were: 'I can breath again', 'I didn't realise how much I needed this', one other said 'it is nice to know there are kind people out there'. The children said 'I made friends, just like me', 'loved being around the open fire', another 'please can we do this again'. Having successfully completed 2 summer camps, experience has been gained for a prototype model to continue camps. The camps are a direct request from parents, who asked for a break for when parents can gain respite while their children receive therapeutic support. Rest, repair and recouperation was found by Wave Connections Cic community members.
