The program was developed in 2013 within Adoption Services. The Adoption Support Fund approved the program as an 'in scope service' in 2015, allowing government funding available for families to access the program. Over 150 children have accessed the program with far reaching results. One child stated 'I now live moment to moment' Sarah age, 8. A 15 year old said ' I was running to the bus and realised I was rushing for no reason, I stopped and started to do Mindful Walking'. Worksheets see below:
Mindfulness research evidence; improved immune function, improved memory and reaction times, increased empathy, enhanced relationships, improved academic performances, reduced hyperactivity, decreased anxiety, depression and irritability, better focus and concentration.

Session 8. Jumping Hurdles. 3 weeks after training program, young people come back together to look at any difficulties and ideas for use of Mindfulness and Yoga for daily life.
